Depending on the time of year you can fish, hike, ski, tube, raft, dine, shop, ride a train, visit the Cherokee Indian Reservation, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or just cuddle up with you favorite book as you warm up by the beautiful stone fireplace complete with closed insert.   We had a great time at this rustic cabin. Our group of 12 Scouts visited to go snowboarding and this fit our needs and price point perfectly. It was close to the Ski resort and town and check-in and check-out were easy.
  The kitchen was stocked well with everything we needed including a regular and pod coffee pot. Which is very important when traveling with teenagers. lol, and the kids loved the firepit which they used even though it we freezing outside.
  If you rent this cabin, be sure to bring hand soap for the 3 bathrooms, toilet paper, and ice as those items were not available.
  The comments about the driveway were not joking. We had a 15-passenger van and a big truck. We were told that backing up the drive was the best way and that is true, but it is steep and on the second day we had to park the van at the bottom as we couldn't get it up the drive due to the loose gravel and damp ground.
  As for the cleanliness, yes there were a few cobwebs, you are in the mountains in the woods, we just dusted them down and went on. I guess as scouts we are used to nature. However, we did have a couple of beds that had hairs between the sheets so I'm pretty sure they were not clean. So you might check that when you get there so you have time to wash them before bedtime. As for the beds, the mattresses on a few of them could stand to be replaced as they are worn out.
  If you want a great place to eat breakfast, Joey's Pancake House is close by and fabulous.
  Overall it was a fun trip.

  The cabin was extremely roomy and had plenty of beds for my family to stay in comfortably as well as a great spot to get off of Soco Rd right there in Maggie Valley but not so far away as to not be able to run to town to grab something. We loved the place but it did have some issues. About 100' from where the cabin is the road changes from paved to crush & run on dirt on a steep incline as well as being only one vehicle wide. If you plan to rent this cabin out make sure your vehicle has the horse power! We booked our stay from VRBO and the listing showed this cabin had WiFi and heating & cooling. When we got there the rental company confirmed there WASN'T any WiFi at the cabin and that there is no central cooling, only baseboard heating. Aside from these issues we had a great time!

  The cabin was roomy and plenty of room to stretch out for my large family. There was trash on the outside in the woods (shame on renters who would do that) and bedding was sparse/uncomfortable, but over all great.

  This is a very nice cabin but the driveway can be tricky if wet or iced over. A four wheel drive vehicle would help you rent it. Over all though it is very nice.

  The cabin was clean and spacious. Plenty of seating indoors and out. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pots and pans. We used the fire pit every night. Firewood was for sale all around town. The folks in Maggie Valley were friendly and helpful. Great location!! Whitewater rafting 45 minutes. Cherokee Casino 30 minutes. Hiking trails and gorgeous waterfall 20 minutes. Shopping and restaurants right in town. The beds were really comfortable. One thing to note, they aren't kidding when they say they don't supply paper products!! Bring toilet paper! 😆

  I've rented this house several times before. I like this place a lot, but this time it was not as clean as previous stays. Beds and baths were OK but some things like window sill in kitchen hadn't been touched in over a year by my estimation and overall, generally dusty everywhere. Also, the internet was not available to us, but the rental agent did show up to try and fix it, he just wasn't able to.

  The cabin is a great and a good location grrat space however it was dirty we found pieces of trash all over and chewed gum on bathroom floor upstairs. Housekeeping needs a little work but overall is was a good experience.
