Western North Carolina is loaded with craft, antique and gift shops. The great outdoors offer horseback riding, mountain golf courses, trout fishing, white water rafting and scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Snow skiing and tubing are available at the Cataloochee Ski Area. It is just a short trip to Asheville and The Biltmore Estate, craft breweries and some of the best restaurants in the South. Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino are nearby or you could plan a day trip to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.

  The cabin was as described. It was such a cute cabin, that was cutely decorated. With OMG Views! We spent much of our time there on the front porch enjoying the views! It had everything we needed. We did not do any indoor cooking so not sure about pots and pans, but it had plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware. We brought a grill to cookout. It has a regular coffee maker, but I brought mine just because I prefer a Keurig. The bed was comfortable. The furniture was comfortable. The water pressure was good. The Window AC unit worked well and kept it nice and cool. The road to get up to the cabin is a gravel road and can be quite bumpy in several areas. You are going up a mountain. But to get that kind of view it is absolutely worth it! The road ends at the cabin. Check in was quick and easy. Would definitely stay here again.

  Second stay and would stay anytime again. It's all about the location and tranquility. We deal with the little things in that framework. Strong pros outweigh the cons iaw expectations. The cabin was not very clean. Even a quick sweep of the floor revealed such (and my wife is a clean and order freak). The bathroom toilet was a bit nasty. Heads up (expectation mgmt...), water pressure is almost zero. Trickle shower. The furniture is getting a bit tired, but I would say for the price is very reasonable and in line with that. We love it and would hope to come back. Again, in the rack and stack, it is comfortable, cozy, and just what we want. Not for those looking for new and posh. Far from a tent or rough park cabin.

  The cabin was even better than we expected. The location was so private. However the noise from the interstate was distracting this is the only negative thing I can say about the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked in plenty of fall linens provided. It was very very cold and the heater in the cabin kept us very comfy. We will be back for a longer stay.

  My wife and I really enjoyed the solitude and beautiful vistas. The wildlife was fun to watch at dawn and dusk. Flocks of turkeys and even wary coyotes strolled by the cabin daily, which added to the excitement and ambiance. You have to realize that this is a relatively low cost cabin accommodation so it might not get 5 star ratings for spotless cleanliness and creature comforts but it excels in it’s idyllic offerings!

  This was our second time staying here and we love it. The views are beautiful and the location feels remote, but is only 15 or 20 minutes from Waynesville and Maggie Valley.

  Wonderful remote location with fabulous views! We enjoyed morning visits from the birds and rabbits, the cows occasionally joined us as well. Most of our time was spent on the porch enjoying the views. The location was terrific.   Location, location, location! The view was spectacular! The morning views even better with the fog in the valley with the mountain peaks showing through. Worth the stone/dirt road ride to the cabin. We meet the owner and he was so nice and informative. We loved his cattle roaming around the area.   This log cabin is perfect for 2 people, wanting a relaxing place with a beautiful view. It is cool up on Hawk Mountain and you can sit on the porch or picnic table outside and enjoy flowers everywhere, humming birds, cardinals , mocking birds singing, deer, cows, wild turkeys, pretty amazing place. It is easy to get to and has great cell reception. At night we would sit on the porch, and watch lightning bugs, or just watch a good western on TV and disconnect from the world. If you are in need of some relaxation, I highly recommend this cabin. We already have rebooked third visit for October cant wait. The owner Mr Boyd is fun to get to know, and always making sure everything was ok. Great vacation for my husband and I, and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the Boyd Family for allowing us to rent this magical place!

  Ck in was simple. Directions to the cabin perfect. stunning views and exceptional grounds. On entering the cabin there is a cable plugged in from out side to the electric fence, as well as the AC Unit not working. My Husband works on AC units and located the the GFI under the cabin was tripped we called office to let know.
  Sat was woken by the owner knocking on the door as the power has gone out in the night. At this time power was back on .
  Then when using the bathroom sink the outer ring of the sink fell apart, there is a small crack and the plumbers putty had crumbled away. this meant that the sink was unusable. I called the office and was given the option to have repaired that day or Sunday when we vacated the premises. we decided on that day. on returning in the early evening, the sink was still the same . I did take pictures. on leaving on Sunday morning completed the survey rented keys to office and left a note for the owner at the cabin.
  we absolutely loved the place and would come back there. the cabin just needs a little extra love, and seriously if was attended to could charge more per night. May this assist you. PS take a look at the dining room chairs they are missing spokes holding the chairs together and will break.
